Brian Schwartz had an insane crash where he went airborne but didn't

Joey Clanton kicks off the 2001 ASA season with his first win of the
year as the series makes its only visit to Florida's St. Augustine
Speedway, racing one hour north of Daytona on the night before a sadly
very tragic Daytona 500. Very cool, but rare, to see ASA kick off its
season with the closest thing it ever had to a race during speedweeks.

Joey Clanton won this race but not before he put the bumper to Greg
Stewart and sent the latter's #33 Pontiac for a loop.

To the rear - 30 - pitting before the green

Clanton's winnings - $16,830

Travis Kittleson crashed on the pace lap.

Brian Schwartz's crash was indeed brutal. His rear end grazed the catch
fence. I was amazed whoever that was behind him didn't nail him as
Schwartz t-boned the wall.

Chris McClure and Buddy Baker were the commentators. Bob Dillner and
Sandy Heng were the pit road reporters.
