RaceFanX posted: 01.31.2020 - 9:11 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Joey Clanton started the 2002 ASA season red hot as he won seven of the first nine races only to have hard luck catch up with him as the string of four races that followed resulted in just one top-10 as he fell back and lost the points lead to his winless but consistent rival Gary St. Amant. Clanton came into Toledo with something to prove and he did it as he turned in a dominant performance to get the win and retake the points lead. Clanton dominated the race although polesitter Butch Miller and Kevin Cywinski were able to lead a few laps early before the #83 got ahead and checked out. ASA rookie Jason Boyd did get up to Clanton and give him a run for his money a few times but never officially took the lead before falling back. 4.
