The win was Garvey's first on the Iowa short track since he won three races in a row here in 1999-2000. 2. RaceFanX posted: 06.21.2020 - 4:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This was the last race for Gary St. Amant in the Grand American Race Cars' #7 Jani-King Chevrolet, ending with the Monte Carlo being sidelined by a crash just before halfway. St. Amant contended for the ASA title in 2002 but after scoring no top-10s or lead lap finishes in the first six races Gary spoke with owner Frank Grill and decided to resign from the team as its driver, taking the #7 and heading to Appalachian Motorsports starting with the next event. 4. Bickle meant to return to the series earlier in the year at Concord but failed to qualify. The popular Wisconsin short tracker went on to run six ASA races this season in Jerry Wood's #42 Chevy but this one would be his best finish. 5.
