This was his last major stock car race in any series. 3. RaceFanX posted: 04.28.2015 - 4:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Scott Lagasse, Jr. scores his only ASA victory. 4. It was pretty funny. 5. rm posted: 05.02.2017 - 5:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) First caution - laps 5-9 - 81 accident backstretch Second caution - laps 15-19 - 21 accident frontstretch (Henderson was apparently talked into racing by ASA officials after insisting he would rather keep his car in one piece to run in some other series. He was doing quite well early on but this race signaled the end of his hopes for running a fulltime season) Third caution - laps 50-60 - 14 accident turn 1 (caution was extended to clean up the track, a lot of fluid was put down after a head-on hit to the outside wall) Fourth caution - laps 63-65 - 4 accident turn 2 Fifth caution - laps 84-89 - 18 accident turn 4 Sixth caution - laps 92-96 - 66 accident turn 4 To the rear - 29, 44 - backup car; 52 - engine change; 32, 81 - pitting before the green flag 81 sponsor - Bush-Cheney '04 (yes, seriously!) Ryan Unzicker's last name is misspelled in the lap leaders table. This was the ASA's first superspeedway race, a move that was supposed to save the series. It clearly did not. The series had never raced on any banked tracks over a mile in length before 2004. 6. Based off of what the broadcasters at SPEED said during the pre-race and the unfortunately incomplete records on this site I made what I thought was a true statement...guess not! Would be cool if enough 80s and 90s ASA records were dug up and sorted through and put on here, but I'm sure that's an extremely steep task - that might even be an understatement. 8. The only issue is most are lacking anything other than finishing positions. I would love to see them put on the site anyways as we can easily piece together additional info from other sources (Such as the Jordan St Amant(Gary's son)youtube channel.) 9. rm posted: 05.02.2017 - 8:23 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) God bless everyone who's uploaded old ARCA, ASA and NASCAR regional series races on Youtube. I've just been going through and watching them and noting what's missing from them, usually caution and DNQ data but also the odd owner or sponsor correction. I've been shying away from races without a semi-frequent ticker appearance though, especially since a lot of non-Cup races weren't broadcast live and/or in full until the past 20 or so years. Youtube channels like Jordan, Michael McIntyre, Dave W and BuggyBoy are what makes this possible, between those 4 they probably have 90% of the 90s/00s races from lower series that are on Youtube. The problem is that that's still just a small fraction of the races that aired on TV, and then that number is a fraction of the total races that have been ran and are missing some data. We'll get there eventually, the races that get added in bulk to this site every once in a while continue to amaze me. I love that I get to add meaningful info to a site that is such an incredible resource. 10. On his warmup lap, he drove down into turn 3 when suddenly his car darted hard right into the wall. Stevens slammed the wall so hard the roof came up off of his Chevrolet. The roof had to be cut off by the medical team and Stevens suffered numerous injuries. He broke his right leg, right shoulder, left arm, and collarbone. Stevens came back to run the finale at his hometrack of Atlanta Motor Speedway before stepping out of full-bodied stock cars for good. 12.
