The NASCAR Re/Max Midwest Series makes its only visit to the suburbs of
America's "Vehicle City" Flint, Michigan to race at Auto City Speedway.
It was the first of only two visits by the series to the Wolverine State.

Steve Carlson picks up the sixth of his eight victories in 2001. The
16-car field was the series' smallest of the season by a significant
margin (could that be why this race was a one-off?).

Flint's a GM town, even if you've seen how many jobs left in "Roger and
Me," but I never would have expected a field of just Chevrolets for a
regional touring series race.

I never knew Auto City hosted a NASCAR-sanctioned race. Pretty cool.
