Orange County Speedway was called Trico Speedway in 1973 and up until
1978, when it closed. It reopened as Orange County Speedway in 1983 and
the whole facility was overhauled.

The track also closed from 2004-2006, but is now operating with twice a
month racing for local classes. I recently talked to Buddy Baker on XM
radio about this race. He didn't know what I was talking about until I
mentioned the track was in Rougemont. He didn't know the track was
called Orange County.

Baker wasn't running for the Grand National East championship but still
won of the first three races. He didn't run that other one.

The late Donnie Watson tallies a top-10 in his only Grand National East
start.

Forgot to mention that the caution was for Rick Newsom (#20) crashing.

Cecil "Flash" Gordon makes his first start of the season, wins the pole,
and finishes second in the race. This was his best run in Grand National
East.
