Ken Squier had sold the track to Long Island businessman Tommy Kalomiris in 1978, but Kalomiris abandoned it after six races in a world of financial trouble. Squier and Tom Curley repurchased the track in time to hold the 1979 Milk Bowl, but after four events in 1980, Kalomiris filed a lawsuit that forced the track to close again. Squier/Curley finally won the legal battle in the 1981/82 offseason and were able to resume weekly racing again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
