The MacKinnon team was thrashing on the car to go to Rockingham when they received a call from NASCAR in Daytona. Apparently, in the lead-up to Rockingham, a rumor had suggested that Quint Boisvert's team had not filed an entry for the race, assuming that it would be impossible to overtake Kourafas for the title. The phone call from Daytona confirmed that rumor: the team HAD filed an entry, but it was postmarked a day late, so Chuck Bown couldn't score points at Rockingham. Presumably Kourafas' team stayed home, not having a race-ready car to go south anyway. If not for that, there might have been two more points challengers in the field from the Busch North circle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
