Interestingly, L.D. Ottinger was noted as one of the big-name headlining
entries, though he actually ran in the Busch ("southern Grand National
tour") race at Myrtle Beach that night as he was a fulltime competitor
in that series. It wouldn't be the first or last time that a driver
attempted two races in two series in two states on one day, but given
that this would have been his only Busch North attempt, I feel like
something was lost in translation as only one local news article ever
made mention of Ottinger's supposed planned appearance.
