There were two 10 lap heat races to determine starting spots 7-24.

Heat No. 1
Finish: 1. Bobby Gada, 2. Dick McCabe, 3. Dale Shaw, 4. Bobby Dragon, 5.
Bob Healey, 6. Mike Weeden, 7. Bob Brunell, 8. Barney McRae

Dale Shaw and Mike Weeden got together in turn three of the first lap.
Shaw still clawed his way back to finish third.

Heat No. 2
Finish: 1. Joey Kourafas, 2. Ricky Craven, 3. Wes Rosner, 4. Dave Davis,
5. Stub Fadden, 6. Jeff Spraker, 7. David Smith, 8. Lloyd Gillie, 9.
Bruce Haley

You missed a car in the first heat taterracing. Ron Lamell finished 7th,
followed by Brunell and McRae.
