They had switched over to Chevrolets for 1996, but ran the Buick at some short tracks. The team car (the #61 of Mike Olsen) was a Pontiac for most of the season, though. I remember Martin Truex had a lot of trouble making the field for this one, spinning during the qualifying race and eventually taking a provisional to get into the field. I wish I could remember who went home early. But it was a great start to the season for Dave Dion, winning the season opener and making a statement that he would be a threat for the 1996 Busch North title. The "Krewe Orleans" was some sort of entertainment spot - I researched it and found it was a dance club in Portsmouth, NH that closed in 2000.
