I believe this was the race in which Andy Santerre walked off the track,
leaving his #44 at the start-finish line. Nearing the end of the race,
Andy's spotter cautioned of some rough racing, when Dale Shaw and a
couple other cars got into a wreck. Under caution, Andy questioned a
NASCAR call to bring the #44 to the pits for a rough-driving penalty.
Santerre parked the car at the start-finish line, got out and left the
car on the frontstretch, leaving the officials to push the car off the
track.

Maybe there was something wrong with the car - but Andy had been running
in the top ten and I didn't remember him being part of the wreck at all.

Made for some good scanner drama, though.
