The track was torn down after the season to make room for a roller coaster

Tom Carey, Jr. won at Riverside Park Speedway in 1998 and backs it up
with another win here in 1999, the first of his two wins this season.

No one knew for sure at the time that this would be the Busch North
tour's final visit to this track although many likely had an idea it
could be. Riverside Park's demise was officially announced to the public
just over a month later but rumors the track's days were numbered had
persisted since the sale of the titular amusement park where it was
located in December 1996 to new corporate owners who had no racing
connections. Riverside had been an annual stop for the North Tour from
1988 onward until its demise.
