He was forced wide through the climb and collided with a tire wall, doing one full inversion before landing on his wheels. They went through the effort to repair the car at the track, and he eventually continued, and he was actually very quick, even though he was forty-nine laps down. From what I heard, he drove the same car in 2006 at Lime Rock, and finished midfield. Surprised NASCAR would let him continue, but they did. 6. The team had to change plans and spent a lot of the week switching parts from their road course car to an older short track car. Clearly it was a blessing in disguise as Kobyluck won the race when the team showed back up to the track. Fittingly, the SPEED intro promo video for the race showed a deer running alongside the track in the woods that surround the track. Also fitting is that Kobyluck brought the car home without a single chip of paint missing, leading 70 of 82 laps and rarely being challenged for position. Ryan Moore had a run-in with Sean Caisse - actually, two run-ins - after the race and earned himself a one-month suspension from all NASCAR competition as a result. The incident(s) really stunted his career and rides were hard to come by for him as a result, never again running a full season at a high level. Moore went from running a partial schedule at Chance 2 in 2005 to running half the Truck season with the much-esteemed Key Motorsports team in 2006. Off a late restart, second-place Byron Chew ran his car way too hard into turn 1 and turned late into the corner, spinning out Moore as well as himself as a result, vocally angering color commentator Pat Patterson who called Chew's move "just stupid." Patterson's belittling of Chew's stunt is definitely one of the funnier announcer rants I've heard in racing, and it's hard to say he was wrong. Moore's car wouldn't refire and a caution was needed. After two more restarts, Moore had driven back into the top ten when he ran very wide on the back half of the course and spun out, dropping him down the finishing order as the incident occurred in the closing laps. Moore had a disagreement with Sean Caisse as to how the offroad activities originated and hit Caisse on both the cooldown lap and on pit road. NASCAR parked both drivers after the race before bringing them in for a meeting, as it wasn't the first clash between Moore and Caisse. Ultimately Moore and his team were hit with penalties, preventing the team from running the finale at Thompson and knocking Moore from 3rd to 5th in points. The suspension was lifted in time to allow Moore to run his final scheduled Busch race for Chance 2 at Homestead, but the damage was already done to Moore's reputation and his career...though in fairness Caisse wound up being far from a saint himself. 10.
