After post-race inspection, one of Sellers' shocks was found to have an extra piece and was declared illegal (the shock would've been legal the year before). NASCAR stripped the win from Sellers, awarded him no points and gave the win to second-place driver and Andy Santerre Motorsports teammate Austin Dillon. It was Dillon's only win of the season and his first of four races with ASM before leaving for Team Dillon Racing. Dillon won in his debut race in the series. 2. Camping World replaced Busch Beer who had sponsored the series' entire existence until this race. 4. As a result, the original runner-up Austin Dillon, has been declared the race winner. Dillon will receive the sure starting spot in the postseason NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown, which goes to the winner of NASCAR Camping World Series races. Sellers' car was determined to be in violation of Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used do not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20C-12.3 C(7) (Shock absorber base valves will not be permitted: Right rear shock absorber had a base valve installed) of the 2008 NASCAR rule book. The violation was discovered during post race inspection on April 19. The rule violation dropped Sellers to 30th in the official race finish. Dillon, driver of the No. 3 car, and all others in the event moved up one position in the official finishing order. Precedent in these cases in the NASCAR Touring division is that the driver be penalized to the last-place finishing position. Previous instances of this penalty include the 2005 NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown and the 2007 NASCAR Camping World Series East race at Adirondack International Speedway in Beaver Falls, N.Y. In addition, NASCAR has penalized H.C. Sellers, crew chief of the No. 44 team, as a result of rule infractions. H.C. Sellers has been suspended from the next three NASCAR Camping World Series East events, suspended from the NASCAR Touring Series until June 11, 2008, and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31, 2008. 6. Crazy to come back to this race and see the familiar faces we've seen in the Top 3 series 7.
