He's definitely been the tough luck driver of the K & N Series the first few races, including a West race he dominated only to get dumped by Greg Pursley. He had to come back in this one too from a tire issue. Matt Kobyluck also got a much needed top-five. Andrew Ranger scores his first top-five finish in just his second series start. Jason Patison scores his best career finish in 6th. Beto Monteiro and Matt Frahm both impress in their series debuts by finishing in the top-ten. Brandon Haley also made his debut. 2. I saw during the autograph session that it had a greyhound rescue stick on the car so I decided to pull for him. I knew he had won the big late model race here last year, but man was he smooth! He drove the car to 5th before 2nd-4th place pitted during the caution. I guess that #12 car caused damage because I saw the crew pulling the right front out after that. Jake drove back up to 5th before getting caught up in with the #9 car. Real shame because that #01 was coming up fast! When will he race again? 3. Looks like he's running a limited East Schedule this year as he also competed at Greenville. May not see him until August 28th at Gresham though since the next few races are in the Northeast. 4. Ryan Truex's 2nd is his best finish of the year and his 3rd straight top five. It's good enough for the defending East Series champion to take the point lead. Darrell Wallace Jr. and Ryan Truex are the only drivers with 3 top fives so far this year so they're 1-2 in the standings. This is Matt Kobyluck's 60th career top five in his 172nd career start. Two time NASCAR Canadian Tire Series champion Andrew Ranger finishes a career-best 5th in his 2nd career East Series start. I was wondering why he wasn't running CTS this year. Jason Patison's 6th is his best in the East Series, although his best in the West is 3rd at Irwindale in 2008. Brazilian Beto Monteiro finishes 7th in his East Series debut... And Matt Frahm finishes 8th in his debut. 5. Move Over posted: 06.07.2010 - 8:01 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Brazilian Beto Monteiro also nearly wrecked the leader around the midway point. I'm not sure if the 01 came in to fix the damage or because it really needed the tires, but someone needed to get Beto to get out of the way. It was good to see Patison have a good run though. He ran a smart race and ended up with an impressive 6th place finish. 6. Kevin Dwight posted: 07.07.2010 - 12:57 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great race, but I accidentally recorded over it! ARGH! If anyone still has it on tape, DVD, or whatever, I would gladly take a copy, or pay for it. Or whatever. You can email me stockcarreport@1fj.com. Thanks! Kevin 7.
