Kevin Swindell's #9 was actually a Dodge Charger. Solid run for him today.

Overall, a pretty clean race with minimal contact and no grinding
wrecks. Not as thrilling for the fans, but it's nice to see the
development teams race cleanly.

Dominating run by Ryan Truex. D.J. Shaw grabbed the early lead, but
didn't get a good restart after the second caution and was passed by
Brett Moffitt. Moffitt built a pretty big lead until Truex chased him
down and passed him during the looooooong green-flag run. There were
several cautions late in the race and Truex prevailed on every restart
over Kevin Swindell, who was very impressive in the race as well.
Swindell got a good jump with Truex just once on the final four
restarts. He made a good bid in the final laps, but Truex was just too
much for him. Truex gets redemption from the year before when Matt
DiBenedetto made contact in the final turns and took the win away last June.

Disastrous day for Sergio Pena. He was involved in three cautions, two
for flat tires and a wreck involving his teammate Mackena Bell. Pena and
Jason Patison made contact in turn three, sending Pena up the track and
collecting Bell and Matt Frahm. All in all, Pena finished only one lap
down. He had a decent car, just a bad day.

Also tough luck for Max Gresham. He cut a tire in turn four and did a
couple burnouts trying to right the car. He didn't hit pit road and that
cost him big as NASCAR didn't put out the caution flag for him. He went
down several laps as a result of making another lap to limp to the pits.

Great run for Alan Tardiff who was in position for a top five finish
with a couple laps to go when Ty Dillon ran up the track into Tardiff,
allowing Moffitt to slide under both of them to finish fifth.

Overall, the race wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. There was a long
green run in the middle, but late cautions bunched up the field and
provided some excitement with less than 15 laps to go.

Ryan Truex gets his 4th career East Series win, and joins his brother
and father, Martin Jr. and Sr., as East Series winners at Loudon.

Ryan put an extra 25 points over Darrell Wallace Jr. who finished 3rd to
put his point lead at 26. It was Wallace Jr.'s 3rd straight 3rd place
finish.

Kevin Swindell finishes a career-best 2nd in his 10th career East Series
start; he also made his Nationwide debut, qualifying 20th but S&P'ing
for a 42nd place finish.

Ryan Gifford finishes 4th for the 3rd time this year.

Brett Moffitt has back-to-back top fives for the first time since Loudon
and Dover last September.

Corey LaJoie, son of 2 time Nationwide champion Randy LaJoie (it must
suck for Corey knowing his dad got busted for smoking pot lol) got his
3rd top ten in 5 career East Series starts, and 2nd in 2 races this season.

Andrew Ranger finishes in the top 10 for a 3rd straight K&N Pro Series
race (win in the West Series at Infineon, top tens in his last 2 East
races).
