Truex all but has locked up his second championship. Impressive runs by Jeff Anton (matches series best) and Miguel Paludo (first top-five). 2. Truex is now tied for most wins on the year with Darrell Wallace Jr. and Max Gresham while leading the series in top fives (7), top tens (8) and laps led (312) in 9 races. Brett Moffitt won his 3rd career East Series pole and 2nd of the season, picking up his 5th top five in the last 6 races. Cole Whitt gets his 4th straight top five finish. Andrew Ranger gets his 10th top ten in 12 combined NASCAR regional series starts between the Canadian Tire, East and West Series. 3. They battled side-by-side for a number of laps before Lajoie got loose and tagged Tardiff, sending Tardiff hard into the outside wall and Lajoie spun through the infield in turn three. Ryan Truex, who watched the battle from third spot, slipped through, took the lead and grabbed the win after a couple more restarts. With the win, Truex secured his second-straight championship. All he needs to do is start Dover to win the title. East Series debuts for Timmy Hill (a respectable 10th place finish), Chad Boat (son of IndyCar race winner Billy Boat), Keith Flach, Scott Stenzel and Brandon Ward. 4. It's a shame to see guys like Jamie Aube, Mike Olsen, Ricky Craven, Dick McCabe all once actually EARN the championship in the equipment they had. Nowadays guys like Ryan Truex, Brett Moffitt, Ty Dillon all get a car whose owner has ties in Cup. Oh well, it was great when it was still actually the "Busch North Series". 6. You have a handful in Cup cars while the others are doing it with hard, New England-based work. That's why I thought Eddie MacDonald finishing second in points last year was very impressive, more so than Ryan Truex winning the title as a rookie. 7. Paludo's fourth place run was his best in the East series, this was his penultimate start before moving up to the Truck series. 8.
