Brett Moffitt opens the 2011 season with a dominant victory, he had to
wait a little longer than usual for a shot at it as this event was
delayed a week by rain.

Coleman Pressley, Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott all debut in the series
with top-5s. Behind them Brandon McReynolds and Cody Hodgson score
top-10s in their first starts.

Way to go Brett! Got to see him race during his days with the old ASA
Late Model Series, and the kid has some talent. Hopefully he goes far!
Also solid top 5 for Chase Elliott.

Brett Moffitt, who replaced two time champ Ryan Truex in the #00 MWR
car, picks up his 5th East Series win from his 4th pole. Brett leads as
many laps as he led in each of the previous two seasons (121 in 2010,
167 in 2009).

Coleman Pressley finishes 2nd in his East debut but has 12 career
Nationwide starts to his credit (19.4 average finish in 7 starts that he
didn't S&P in, best finish of 12th for JR Motorsports).

X Team Racing made their debut in the series, getting all 3 cars in the
top 5 (Pressley, Alex Bowman in 3rd and Matt DiBenedetto in 5th).

After only 3 top tens last season, Sergio Pena is in the top 10 in the
1st race of 2011 in 7th.

Damn Toyota's are taking over the East Series.

Only Chevy in the Top 5 is Chase Eliott, who in his K&N Pro Series Debut
finishes a respectable 4th after starting 26th.

Noteable absence: Matt Kobyluck.

No one has commented on this race for nine years. It's pretty impressive
to look back at K&N races from this era and see Chase Elliott, Alex
Bowman, Matt DiBenedetto, Bubba Wallace, Corey LaJoie and others all
running.
