Lots of passing, comers and goers, a few late wrecks to spice things up but nothing that demolished a bunch of cars. The biggest thing that happened was around lap 75 when Ryan Blaney spun Chase Elliott racing for the lead. Elliott probably had the best car at that point, but he had to restart 22nd and then got some damage coming back up and never really recovered. Blaney slid to 14th for the ensuing restart because he hit the kill switch under caution and make some gutsy moves to get to 2nd. He might have run down Piquet had it not been for that last caution as Blaney just coudn't get going the first few laps of a run. 6. The Kony 2012 effort that sponsored Piquet's winning car here wasn't a political campaign but a short film posted online by Invisible Children, Inc. in the hopes of raising awareness about Ugandan war criminal and cult leader Joseph Kony, infamous for kidnapping children for use as soldiers or sex slaves. The film aimed to create a viral push so big that it would force the world to act against him. While the video would lead to the United States and African Union members to start a search for Kony ultimately he eluded capture although his Lord's Resistance Army had all but petered out by 2017 and is no longer seen as a threat in Uganda. The video hit the Internet about two weeks before this race and was at the height of its fame at the time this one was run. 18. The Truck series regular would run just two races in this series, following up his win here with another outing at Richmond a month later. 19.
