Moffit passed him and Wallace then quickly started fading back, to 16th in just about three laps. Moffit appeared to have the winning car. On a restart while leading, Moffit chose the inside lane and slid up into another car, drifting around turn 1 and 2. After saving it he gained a few positions but suddenly fell back and eventually had some sort of problem and lost a lot of laps. A huge crash in turn 1 and 2 claimed about seven cars. The final 20 laps Wallace and McReynolds chased down LaJoie and started closing in and eventually McReynolds got to LaJoie's bumper with two or three laps to go. McReynolds clipped LaJoie at the right rear, causing LaJoie's rear TV panel to nearly rip off all the way. Caution came out because of that and McReynolds was posted as the leader. While under caution NASCAR told LaJoie's team he had to pit to remove the dangling panel, but on that lap the lapped #46 car pulled up to LaJoie's car and swerved back and forth along the panel and succeeded in causing it to fall all the way off. LaJoie kept his position on the track and got a great jump on the restart, passing McReynolds immediately. LaJoie's winning car had no TV panel at all. Quite a wild race. The two dominate cars suffering problems, and for a moment it appeared that the third dominate car (LaJoie) was in trouble at the end. It's great to see LaJoie pick up another win, especially at Dover. He came close to winning at Dover two or three times. Points battle has also been shuffled up after this crazy race. 3. Larson's top-5 here allowed him to pounce on the mechanical problems that resulted from Moffitt's mechanical gremlin and move into the points lead. He'd lead the rest of the way as he'd win the championship in his lone season of NASCAR K&N East racing action. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
