Moffitt leads the race and the championship in the last lap of the final
race, gets spun by Reddick, loses both.

Is this the second race in a row that Moffitt leads the race with 1 to
go and gets spun? Wow, what a horrible way to lose the championship.

Corey LaJoie finishes 2nd and beats all of his title rivals BUT loses
the title because of his 25 point penalty after the last race that cost
him the points lead.

Kyle Larson finishes sixth which combined with Moffitt's wreck and
LaJoie's penalty was enough to earn him the 2012 NASCAR K&N East series
championship. This was Larson's first-ever season competing in the series.

This was the K&N East series first-ever standalone visit to Rockingham.
Previously in the Busch North days the series did have several companion
races at the Rock but they consisted largely of just the regular Busch
drivers and none had taken place since 1992.

16 year old making his series debut has no regard for the championship
battle, wrecks the race leader and would be champion for the win. Sigh.

After looking at the replay, it didn't strike me that Reddick flat
wrecked him. Coming out of turn two, he drifted down a hair, Moffitt
drifted up in front of him a hair, got hooked.

recap today as a free article.

At first I thought that Chase Elliott's PEER seemed was a little more
low that I thought it'd be. But then again, he's basically driving for
Hendrick Motorsports in the series so shouldn't his results be better
than 1 win and falling off from being a championship threat late in the
season?

That DW JR.'s 2012 season was abysmal is plain to see for everyone, but
at least he's had some good results in Nationwide this year to
counteract that.

LaJoie, for winning so many races, and Larson, for winning the
championship as a rookie even though the circumstances were suspect but
despite little pavement experience coming, were definitely the two most
impressive drivers and I hope that a Cup team will take on LaJoie for
next season.

Dodge's first K&N East win since the season finale in 2006 with Ruben
Pardo.

Moffitt was beat anyway. Once Reddick got alongside him Moffitt was
going to get passed by Reddick.

What did Reddick do wrong? Moffit tried to block and it didn't work for him

As of 2015 this remains Dodge's last victory in the K&N East series, the
brand largely left NASCAR after the 2013 season although second hand
cars are still being run in some series. The Dodges only have two
victories in the series to date.

@19 Andrew Ranger just won in a Dodge in the NASCAR Pinty's Series this
past weekend.
