Ben Kennedy wins his first K&N East series race leading flag-to-flag
from the pole in the process. It's not Kennedy's first NASCAR victory,
he won in Europe running in the NASCAR Euro-Racecar Series last season.

This was the K&N East series' first visit to Florida's Five Flags
Speedway, home of the famous Snowball Derby. Perhaps experience helped
out Kennedy as he ran the Snowball Derby the last two years.

This was the series' first-ever standalone race in Florida, thier only
previous visits to the Sunshine State was the regular Busch Series race
at Daytona beign a companion event from 1988 through 1997, all of which
saw few series racers in the field.

NASCAR.com is saying the 1 car was a Chevrolet, not a Dodge.

Hometrack is constantly making mistakes (since many years), but does not
update during the weekend. In reality at Five Flags the #1 = Dodge and
the #71 = Chevrolet.
I have to make regular updates for the K&N West and East.
It does not change! But it adds more work for us! That's life ...

Reigning ARCA/CRA Super Series champion Johnny VanDoorn makes his NASCAR
K&N East debut and finishes third. VanDoorn ran eight K&N East races
this season but his strong debut here turned out to be his only top-5
and top-10 finish.

Rick Allen and Phil Parsons were the commentators. Derek Pernesiglio was
the sole pit road reporter.
