McLeod's team, which was underfunded to say the least and had his only top ten's of the year on road courses. This season he's been a little inconsistent, having 3 top 5's and 2 other top ten's coming into this race mixed in with 5 finishes of 15th of lower. I expect another strong showing from him next week at the VIR road course as well. 3. Andrew Ranger was leading in the late laps with Cole Custer right on his tail. Two late cautions came out, and on the final restart, third-place driver Scott Heckert managed to get by both Ranger and Custer and take the win! Custer wrecked on the final lap trying to get around Ranger. Ben Rhodes finished strong to retain his points lead. Polesitter Brodie Kostecki's race ended early with some sort of problem with his car, I'm not sure what it was. He brought out the first caution on lap five when his car stalled on the track. Gray Gaulding ran strong and looked like he might win his first K&N East race by leading at the halfway break, but he too suffered an issue with his car and fell way back in the second half of the race. 5. Every sand barrel was destroyed. Grabbed a few pieces for keepsakes! 11. DRF posted: 08.11.2014 - 6:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) All in all a poor race until the finish. Very ARCA like with most of the top-10 based on attrition. Bodmer tried to run a car numbered 9 with the word 'ELEVEN' on the inside of the 9 decal (a 9/11 tribute scheme) but NASCAR made him remove the 'ELEVEN' decals to prevent confusion. Morgan blew an engine and withdrew, Vilarino crashed in qualifying and withdrew. 12. Would have been a hard hit at high speed for sure. Surprised that Custer didn't wreck any sooner than he did, he was wheeling hard trying to keep up with Heckert and nearly lost the handle a few times on the final green-white-checkered sequence prior to his actual accident. He made a big save coming out of the carousel at one point. 15.
