This guy has a great future in store for him if he can get the requisite ride. East Series debuts of Dalton Sergeant, Dillon Bassett, William Byron, Dalton Zehr, Anthony Kumpen, Collin Cabre, Rico Abreu, Christian Celaya, Devon Amos, and Jared Irvan (the son of Ernie Irvan). Kumpen, Travis Miller, and X-1R Pro Cup veteran (and billionaire in a past life) J.P. Morgan were the only drivers in the field born before 1990. The honor of youngest driver in the field went to J.J. Haley at 15 years, 10 months. 2. The way this race flowed sounds more like the flow of some of the Chase races last season (NH, Homestead, Texas, for examples) than anything else. 5. joey2448 posted: 02.16.2015 - 4:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "...X-1R Pro Cup veteran (and billionaire in a past life) J.P. Morgan..." I lol'ed at this. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw his name for the first time. Popular Chili Bowl winner Rico Abreu (who is a little person) makes his stock car debut. Does anyone know how he actually ran during the race, because it appears he was in the final wreck of the night, which might've dropped him a few positions? 6. Kumpen was the 2014 champion of NASCAR's European Whelen series (which probably earned him his ride here). 7. He apparently ran about 15-16th the whole race and was running 16th when he wrecked on the final lap 8. He was around 12th-16th the rest of the race. I'm wondering how much of a disadvantage he was at since because his deal was put together late he was the only one of the Harry Scott team cars, and one of only a handful of teams in the field, not using the new composite COT body. The new cars qualified reasonably well but they didn't have the speed to match the new cars during the race. 9. I think Rico wrecked his newer bodied car in practice, so the backup came out and it was an older car. 10. I read the team was dealing with engine issues the entire day. The car pulled in during the pace laps and the crew apparently discovered that the engine problems weren't going to allow them to take the green flag. Another note on Hill. This was also his first K&N East Series pole. 11. Ah that would make sense. 12. It's a little early to predict how he'll look once he gets comfortable. 13. Dominant performances like this one are reminders of how good he can be. 20.
