Points leader Harrison Burton sneaks past Todd Gilliland in the closing
laps and holds him off for a big win at South Boston Speedway in the
second half of this doubleheader. The victory makes Burton the first
driver this season to win multiple races.

It's almost a hometown win for Burton. While he grew up in North
Carolina his NASCAR driver father Jeff Burton and uncle Ward Burton both
grew up in South Boston and cut their teeth at this track.

Chase Purdy led the most laps tonight but fell out of contention at the
end when he jumped the final restart, getting black flagged.

Note: all cars = new body style
Note: the backup car of Hunter Baize is a Chevrolet SS (primary car in
the first race = Toyota Camry)
Note: two Red flag during the race. First on Lap 8 for 8 minutes for
cleanup the fluid. The second on lap 94 for 4 minutes.

Burton's winning car for this race had a NASCAR Mexico/2004 ASA-style
paint scheme with the sponsor's name on the doors and the #12 on the
rear quarter panel instead.

Purdy actually crossed the finish line first but the black flag denied
him the win. Purdy's car is owned by David Gilliland and ironically's
his jump on the restart cost David's son Todd Gilliland the win, Purdy's
red light opened a big hole on the inside for Harrison Burton to sneak
past Todd.

Ronnie Bassett, Jr. blew a tire and crashed hard in the closing laps.
Adding insult to injury he was running in the top-5 when he crashed out.

Dave Burns and Frank Stoddard were the commentators with Derek
Pernesiglio on pit road.
