Why run all the short tracks in K&N when you can run the mile and a halfs in ARCA? 4. Burton lowered the age record for a series champion that was formerly held by current NASCAR Cup star Joey Logano, who won the East title in 2007 at age 17. It was the fifth win of the season for Burton and he became the first driver to win the season finale and championship since Mike Stefanik clinched the 1998 title with a win at Lime Rock Park. Burton led the 2017 season standings for 10 of the 14 weeks, losing the lead after race 12 at Langley but taking it back here at Dover. 6. This Busch North race used to explode at the threshold with a whopping 43 cars qoinq for the $15,000 payday and a cool $3,400 for dead last. Now the winner gets a mere $4,500 and last is $700. Glad everything worked out for Dover ..... not. Not sure how the promoter, track or NASCAR grossed dollar one for this event 8. I mean, have 3 owners show up with two start-and-parks a piece and both series would be equal. But that really is a great observation. In ARCA you can get superspeedway and speedway and dirt race experience, in K&N all you get are short tracks and road courses. Road courses only make up low single digit percentage of NASCAR National Touring Series calendars. The payout problem is also what a few people keep bringing up in trucks. If Matt Crafton really did only get $27,000 by winning Eldora - then yikes. Finally, NASCAR may just "fix" this problem by combining East and West into one series next year. I mean, they did that with Modified/Southern Modified this season. 10. Like there's a 100% probability that Harrison Burton will win the title in Trucks, Xfinity and Cup. But we all know it's not that easy... Many drivers were excellent in K&N, but struggled even in Trucks/Xfinity, which is still pretty different level from Cup, where it's so hard to win at least once. "Bros at nascar.com wanna act hard, but need to take it easy.", seriously... 11. Stewart14Rocks posted: 09.30.2017 - 2:59 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) @10 All NASCAR did was manufacture hype. It supposedly helps to get people to tune in. 12. He's the West series points leader and came into this race leading the East series points only to have it all go out the window with that crash. Credit to Burton for pulling the upset, with a such a small field even with Gilliland sidelined he needed a strong performance to swipe the title and delivered. 13. ARCA dropped Berlin and NJMP this year which were picked up by K&N. Iowa is the only track shared on the schedules. I suppose if NASCAR was desperate enough they might consider some combo events but it seems highly unlikely at best. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
