Good battling throughout the night between Gilliland and Burton. 10. Mr.Victory posted: 02.12.2018 - 7:24 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) ugh... get him out of this series already! I remember they used to be used for the East and West companion events. @10 I can see your side of the argument, because this series has turned into solely a developmental series. This series was the best in 2006 and before when it was the "old fart short track series." The funny thing is all the old farts left within 2 years. It happened so darn quickly! Does anyone know if there is a place on the Internet to watch the races? I would love to watch some short track racing. I don't think it is on TV anymore. The old farts might be gone, but I would love to cheer the last east series lifer left, Eddie MacDonald. This race was actually live on Fanschoice.tv, but I don't know it they will keep doing that. I see the regional series as a good representation of the difference between the coasts. While there are most certainly exceptions, on the east coast everything is fast paced and people are moving up as fast as they can, while on the west coast everything's a bit slower paced. That holds true for NASCAR. NASCAR East is full of speedways and support races because everyone's in a rush to ascend the ladder and move up to the Cup Series lest they be left in the dust. For the most part, those entering NASCAR East for even decently funded teams have every intention of moving up. NASCAR West is more short track based, as drivers there are perfectly fine with spending a few years there before moving up, or maybe even not moving up at all and staying in the West Series. There are still quite a few lifers there, which I think is also due to the fact that drivers and teams are not in as much of a rush to forcibly climb the ladder. 18. Yeah, I noticed the K&N West series has more lifers. For some reason I thought the K&N West series had 8 or less full timers on average per season (which would be a turnoff for me watching most of the season) but they've actually had decent amounts for the most part 14, 10, 12, 9, 6, and 10 the last 6 years. 19. peteee posted: 02.12.2018 - 9:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) only 2 people win in this series 20. 23andJoe posted: 02.13.2018 - 7:23 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) > The funny thing is all the old farts left within 2 years. It happened so darn quickly! That was about the time they downsized the cars from "basically Busch cars" to "basically Late Model Stock Cars", wasn't it? 21. Alex posted: 02.13.2018 - 11:52 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Per the few drivers who have aired out their opinions, they were all PO'd that NASCAR was making it a de facto spec cars with spec engines, so they packed up and quit. One told me NASCAR pretty much said that local racers weren't wanted anymore and that they wanted it to be kiddy league only. That's why all the races at tracks that, 10 years ago, never would have been considered. Many went to ACT; others retired; Matt Kobyluck stuck around, handed the kids their rears, then quit. Ironically, NASCAR's in a position where they /need/ to bring back the Goody's Dash and AutoZone Elite Division to give these kids somewhere to legimately grow. 22. I didn't watch this race, but based on the other numbers, that would make sense. 26.
