First career start for Armani Williams. Curiously no Brandon McReynolds on the preliminary entry list with the #74... 3. The NASCAR K&NPS East will perform for the second time in its history on the beautiful Memphis oval in Tennessee for the Memphis 150 Presented by AutoZone. Last year it was Harrison Burton who won. An important step that had taken him to the championship crown. Especially that his main opponent Todd Gilliland could not do better than 8th with the Toyota #16 of Bill McAnally Racing. This year the #16 will be back with Derek Kraus. He will not be alone since it's the complete BMR trio that will be present with Hailie Deegan and Cole Rouse. This race will mark the debut of young Detroit, MI driver Armani Williams. He had been seen last year in NASCAR Pinty's Series on five races. He will be driving the #43 Calabrese Motorsports. This team is powerful. As a reminder, Eddie MacDonald was 9th in Bristol at the start of the season. Note the absence of the #74 Chevrolet of Brandon McReynolds in the entry list. He had already missed the 2nd race of South Boston after the destruction of his car in the big crash during the first race. Curious and unfortunate for this former driver of BMR #16 with whom he had triumphed twice in the Iowa combined event in 2015. But who will be watching for the victory? Both Tyler of the DGR-Crosley of course! Ankrum and Dippel. But let's not forget Anthony Alfredo. He also drives for the team that allowed Burton to visit Victory Lane. He's the latest winner in K&N East. But with Anthony it's all or nothing since the beginning of the season. Me personally and it's in all objectivity, I assure you, that I will bet on Derek Kraus! Memphis is a track of more than half a mile (.750) and with a high average speed. He seems to have a natural ease on this type of short track. Even if it will remain a discovery for him. The BMR team has the experience of last year. And then Memphis ... Music ... Mike Curb .... It seems to me the right place to win! But Hailie and Cole will be very serious candidates for victory. Like Bassett's brothers (Ronnie and Dillon). And if the REV Racing finally wakes up (there is talent in his trio of drivers), it promises an intense race, I can not wait to be on Saturday! My prediction for the Top5: Derek Kraus, Tyler Ankrum, Hailie Deegan, Anthony Alfredo and Ronnie Bassett, Jr. 6. Those two haven't finished outside the top 10 in a race yet this season. 7. As far as the East Series goes, she's yet to finish on the lead lap. With a larger track, she has the potential to stay on the lead lap, we'll have to wait and see. 8. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 06.02.2018 - 5:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Pole position for Tyler Ankrum with a new track record for the K&N East Series with a lap speed of 117.493 mph, the previous record was 113.450 mph !! and second place for teammate at DGR-Crosley Tyler Dippel. Armani Williams was not really fast for first time behind the seat of the Calabrese #43 Ford. Now the race ! 9. rm posted: 06.02.2018 - 9:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Looks like it was a rough day for the McAnally bunch. Good stuff from REV though, especially after the tough South Boston week they had between the crashes and the shop fire. 10. They took tires after the first stage when nobody else did and it obviously didn't work out. Anyway awesome race, tremendous crowd, really hope they get the trucks next year. 11. nascar_vd /racing-reference.info posted: 06.03.2018 - 3:32 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Finally Ruben Garcia, Jr. won a K&NPS East race with Rev Racing. Hard day for BMR trio due to a mistake with the tires strategy. 12. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 06.03.2018 - 6:23 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) It's a cry from the heart. I'm no longer allowed to make changes and corrections on RR regarding the races of 2018 season of regional NASCAR series that I had been passionately involved with for so many years (K&N East, West and Pinty's). I'm really sorry about that, I'm sad to see that today I'm just reduced to reporting errors that are not all corrected by the people of NASCAR now engaged to encode the information in real time. It's disappointing to see that I've been helping my friend Alan for almost 15 years (with my archives, my research, my passion) to provide the best source of information and statistics on the NASCAR series. Today I can still take care of historical races. For how long before I see myself forbidden to do it? So for you, friends who are passionate about truth, here are some corrections concerning this Memphis race. I will quickly post in the comment section corrections for previous races. Some manufacturers are incorrect for this K&N East race at Memphis: -Ronnie Bassett, Jr. #04 use a Toyota Camry, not a Chevrolet SS -Dillon Bassett #44 use a Toyota Camry, not a Chevrolet SS -Juan Manuel Gonzalez #5 use a Toyota Camry, not a Chevrolet SS Thanks to all, 13.
