The 15 cars listed here are the only cars/teams that filed entries for Toledo. The CBR #2, RJR #30 and Oakley/Bryant #22 never officially entered the race. 17. The field may have been light, but the action most definitely was not! Great show, especially between Mayer & Gibbs, but hopefully we get a few more cars going forward. 19. RaceFanX posted: 06.14.2020 - 12:12 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ty Gibbs bests Sam Meyers to win his first ARCA East race as the series returns to competition after a four-month layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Toledo Speedway has been a staple of the ARCA tour for years but this is the first race for the ARCA East, former NASCAR K&N East, tour at this track. Looks like posts 7 and 8 were on the ball. 24. rm posted: 06.14.2020 - 10:22 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Even though it was the Gibbs & Mayer show at the very top of the order, surprisingly they frequently had company lined up directly behind them. Gio Bromante made his run at the lead during the first half of the race, and Bret Holmes took on that role later in the race. Bromante wasn't around at the end, though, when he backed it into the turn 4 wall following contact from Ryan Repko. The incident appeared to be unprovoked, and Bromante could be seen gesturing in anger & disappointment inside the car before hopping out. Shortly after the restart from that caution, Repko smacked the wall hard coming out of turn 4 and cut down a right front tire as a result. Repko didn't realize that the tire was flat until he tried to steer into turn 1, at which point the car continued to go straight towards the wall. Repko didn't hit the wall, instead running head-on into the giant foam blocks that Toledo is known for lining up in front of the concrete walls in the turns. The result would have been the same either way: a hard crash. Sure seemed like instant karma to me! This prompted a red flag while the foam was cleaned up and put back into its original position along the outside wall. "Farmer Bob" Pawlowski was making just his third career oval start and had a pretty rough go of it, going 17 laps down the hard way. Winner Ty Gibbs made sure to point out in his interview after the race how frequently Pawlowski got in the way of the leaders. Taylor Gray, the younger brother of Tanner Gray, made his East series debut and held his own all day. Gray and Parker Retzlaff spun out with just a handful of laps to go in the race after trying to go three wide into turn 1. Neither car appeared to have any visible damage to the body, but Gray didn't make it very far when he tried to refire and roll away. I'm no expert at trying to diagnose what exactly the issue might have been, but my guess is that the rookie busted the clutch or a gear when trying to right his car. 25. Also Bob Pawlowski drove the No. 11E instead of 11 and his owner was Robert Pawlowski ... And the owner of No. 1 is Shigeaki Hattori (is missing the ''aki'') 26. Holmes did quite well for himself, running a brand-new car built by Shane Huffman & the rest of the Holmes team and delivering one of his strongest runs yet. Basham and Smith were in different circumstances, in the less-exciting shakedown/start-and-park role. After crashing out at New Smyrna following a spectacular tangle with Tanner Gray, Mason Diaz is saddled with another DNF thanks to a very early exit at Toledo. Diaz now has 7 DNFs across his last 8 NASCAR & ARCA appearances. The Venturini Motorsports team hasn't had multiple cars DNF in a single race since ARCA's fall Salem race in 2017, nearly three years ago. 31.
