Mayer made the first move and ends the abbreviated 2020 East season 5-of-6. Only led the most laps in 2 of the races. 12. rm posted: 10.11.2020 - 6:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I think the rookie of the year is going to wind up going to Gibbs, he was second in points heading into this one 13. If so, Mayer leading the most laps in only two races is still the most among all drivers; He and Ty Gibbs did it twice. The other two races were achieved by two separate drivers. 14. Only two start and parks, too! 17. rm posted: 10.11.2020 - 9:45 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Was definitely some good action in this one. Both Ty Gibbs and Taylor Gray drove back to the front after dropping outside the top ten and making extra pit stops, it really looked like Gibbs was going to pop out of nowhere and steal the win in the last two laps there for a moment. Great run by Corey Heim, though he wasn't shy with his bumper. If there was going to be someone else other than Enfinger who was going to win the race, I would have guessed it would be Heim. Mason Diaz did not have a good day. When Heim sent Derek Griffith for a loop on lap 158, everyone managed to dodge Griffith's sliding car, except for Diaz, who was all the way on the apron when Griffith slid right into his path. A 3-lap shootout at the end was originally set up by Sam Mayer - race leader Sam Mayer! - turning Diaz around on the frontstretch for some reason. It didn't cost Mayer the race, but it sure could have with how the ending played out. 18. Pollard was entered only because Taylor Gray would not have been old enough to race. Holmes didn't re-enter so the team could focus on clinching the ARCA Menards Series championship at Kansas. Bromante left the #74 team during the summer. Not sure of any specific reasons for the others, Hattori was the only one of the other four teams that attempted more than one race when the season resumed. 24. RJR did run Phoenix in November though, and they were going to race at the Daytona road course before NASCAR imposed the rule of limiting drivers to running only one of the four races that weekend. 26. Danish_Pie posted: 02.22.2021 - 8:36 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bubba Pollard should likely be listed as a Driver Change, since the DGR 17 still ran with Taylor Gray instead. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
