By one month, Wayne Peterson broke Hershel McGriff's record for oldest
driver to get a top 15 finish in a NASCAR sanctioned race.

@8 - pfaugh. Even if your math was right, a driver needs to compete to
qualify for a record, and Peterson stopped competing in 2016. The only
times he's not dead last is when someone else start-n-parks faster than
he does. In 2018 for example he started 6 races and completed 0 laps.

There's no comparison with McGriff, who still actually raced into his
80's. In his 83 year old season, he finished 194 of 195 laps, which
shows he was a serious competitor.

While I agree that McGriff's was far more impressive, it still counts as
a top 15 regardless of whether he truly competed or not. More as a sad
reflection on what this series has become than anything else, though.

? Unreal. Some people don't need to be on the track. I knew it was gonna
happen to somebody but unfortunately we're the ones that dealt with the
lapped car that almost wrecked every car out there tonight. Put the
tires on the wrong side too. Went from racing for the lead to DNF?
