Pete Harding closed out the 1996 NASCAR Northwest Tour season with a
victory and carries over that momentum as he starts off 1997 with the
first of his two wins this season. This was the second of his six wins
at Evergreen.

Former series champion Kirk Rogers makes a one-race return to the tour
but crashes out early on. This was his last race in a major series.
