Pete Harding takes advantage of the mechanical issues that sidelined
John Zaretzke late in this race to capture his second win of 1999.

Keith Armstrong makes his series debut, and only start of 1999, and
finishes in the top-10. His ninth here was his best in the Northwest
Series.

Slight adjustment on the caution periods (3 for 12 laps):
First caution - laps 57-61 - 20, 42, 75 accident turn 1
Second caution - laps 62-64 - 33, 34, 42, 73, 79, 86 accident turn 1
(red flag)
Third caution - laps 97-100

On the restart after a relatively-harmless 3-car spin, a big 6-car
pileup ensued in turn 1 and halted the race so that the scene could be
cleared. John Zaretzke, who had touched off the original caution when he
tried to get a little too aggressive making a 3-wide pass to put a
couple cars a lap down, wound up back in the lead after all. Zaretzke
had recovered quickly enough from his spin to still restart in the top
ten, but far enough back that he could avoid the mayhem when the new
leaders promptly crashed themselves.

Zaretzke ran out of gas with 7 laps to go, forcing him to coast back to
the pits and robbing him of his first Northwest tour win. He'd make up
for it by winning two the following year.
