After racing on the road course one week the Northwest Tour gang stays
in Portland for its final race at the famous Portland Speedway, a track
that was only about two months away from its big changeover from
pavement to a clay surface. Washington racer John Zaretzke took the lead
on the opening lap and held on to led flag-to-flag as he claimed his
first career Northwest Tour win in this historic race.

Garrett Evans won the pole (6-car invert)

Sixth caution - 1, 32 accident backstretch (six cars involved in total)

Pete Harding made a valiant run up to fifth after changing everything
but the engine between qualifying and the race. Clearly making the slew
of adjustments was the right move for the struggling defending series
champ.
