John Bender's first career Northwest Tour win was here at Evergreen on
the infield oval in 2003. His victory here on the same track's standard
big oval marked his fourth and final career win in the series.

Bennett was two-tenths quicker than the next fastest qualifier, Gary
Lewis. Upon returning to the pits, though, Bennett's crew thought the
car didn't sound right and went to work under the hood. Bennett already
had drawn a tough card when he pulled a 10 for the invert, and it didn't
get any better as he had to then drop to the rear. The issues never were
resolved and he pulled into the pits after 101 laps, citing ignition
problems as his reason for exiting.
