note: initially scheduled for 107 laps / 300 miles but reduced to 150
miles for a reason unknown

This was the NASCAR West Series' only race at the short-lived Oregon
International Raceway, the Goshen road course was brand new at the time
after opening its doors just two months earlier. Ron Hornaday continues
his late season charge as he conquers all comers in his Ford.

The Oregon International Raceway would be a short-lived course as a
flood of the Willamette River would destroy the track in 1966. There
were no funds to fix it so it closed and was converted into a landfill a
decade later.
