I helped out Russ Bullen in this race. I think it was his first West
start as I recall. Russ lived just up the road from this track and ran
Cajon a lot. The dirt wasn't his thing. But he ran 'er hard and gave it
a try. If I recall, he spun it down into the infield in T2 and broke. It
has been a long time, but the box score here does show a crash. A lot of
guys were a real mess on this track. The list of leaders here were the
guys not only with good cars, but could run on marbles in an ice storm,
so no surprises. This was really a Sprint Car track and but cut out for
West.
