I went up there, even though we skipped running Roseville, to help out ol Ernie Stierly, a good friend of ours. I had it in me I was going to show up at every race back then, whether we ran it our not. I paid my own way, flying up there on the old PSA. back then, adjusted for inflation, it would be like paying $100 round trip. It was a fast race and Ernie owned it, absolutely owned it, but our tires went away late and Sumner got him. Man, that hurt. We almost had it. Best car on the track that day. But we had almost no grip there after about Lap 90. One thing I remember was the small crowd. They thought Roseville regulars would help. It didn't. But we all had fun. Great times. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
