First West race at Phoenix not won by a Winston Cup regular.

Race was the week after Riverside so a lot of the cup drivers would stay
out west and run this race the next week. Only non-westerners to do so
in 83 were runner up Trevor Boys and mid-west short track legend Dennis
Devea
