The late Australian NASCAR champion Robin Best makes his only Winston
West start. This was his lone NASCAR race in North America, he failed to
1990 Coca-Cola 600 in his only Winston Cup attempt.

At 3 laps down, this is the closest St. James Davis ever came to
finishing on the lead lap.

On top of that, this is also the only race where Davis even finished
within a single-digit amount of laps behind the leader - his closest
oval effort was 12 laps down.

Between the complete lack of success, unusual tale of having a crew
member become a stowaway en route to Australia, and his tragic animal
attack, Davis has had an unfortunately bizarre life.
