The "High Plains Drifter" had attempted to move up to Winston Cup earlier in the season but it hadn't worked out prompting a change in strategy for him and the Chesrown team. This was Carelli's ninth and final Winston West win (and the only race he led in 1994), he ran just a handful of races in 1994 before moving to NASCAR's new SuperTruck series for 1995 (Hornaday would join him on the new tour). Portland hometown hero Ross Kusah qualifies an impressive fourth as he makes his first Winston West start in 13 years but goes out with a mechanical failure. This was his penultimate race in the series. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
