Ron Hornaday Jr. claims his first Winston West win in over a year, his
previous victory was also at Tuscon in the final race of the 1994 season
before he spent 1995 running in the new Truck series.

Future Winston West champion Eric Norris makes his series debut in a car
sponsored by a TV that starred his father Chuck. Eric Norris scored a
solid top-15 in what was his only start of the 1996 season, he'd become
a series regular in 1998.
