I belive that this is the first major race I ever saw.

It was during the Copper World Classic (I miss it) and If I remember
correctly that there was a bad crash in turn two where someone got
t-boned and it split the fuel tank and there was a massive fire in turn
2. (It may of been the Southwest race)

Am I right?

Zed,

No this race was a support race to the CRaftsman Truck Series. The race
you're referring to was the 1999 Copper Classic. The driver in the fire
was Dave Byrd and he was hit by Eddie Bryans. The accident happened in
the Saturday night last chance race.

Motohiro Nakaji #08 was also a Dick Midgley Car
