Last race on the pavement at Portland Speedway. They tore up the surface
and ran it as a dirt track for a few years. It was eventually closed and
dismantled and the company that did the dismantling was Dan Obrist
Recycling.

The ageless wonder Hershel McGriff makes his only start of the 2000
season in the series' final visit to Portland Speedway. The popular
Oregon racer once won five West races in a row on this track from 1971
to 1973. This was his first race on the tour at the Portland oval since
1995.

Allen Bestwick and Michael Waltrip were the commentators. Larry Nastin
was the sole pit road reporter.
