Andy Hillenburg makes his lone Winston West start and finishes in the
top-3 racing for Beth Ann Morgenthau's new BAM Racing. The team and
Hillenburg also attempted several Winston Cup races in 2001 but did not
qualify for any of them so this was their only major race together.

This race was the very first at the new Kansas Speedway and was on
national TV.

Rick Benjamin and Kenny Wallace were the commentators. Brent Stover was
the sole pit road reporter.
