David Gilliland wins the K&N Pro Series West race at the site of his
best career Sprint Cup Series finish back in 2008, when he finished 2nd
to Kyle Busch.

series, picks up his fourth-career West victory and first since 2007 at
Sonoma.

Hershel McGriff returns for his first start of 2012. The man, myth and
legend finished in the top-20.

David's NASCAR West champion father Butch Gilliland was inducted into
the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame on the Thursday before this race.
Butch flew in from his home in Dubai to see this race.

Just to gain a little perspective here, Hershel McGriff raced and
finished ninth in the very first Southern 500 in September 1950! You are
never too old...
