With the win, his third of the year, and his teammate Greg Pursley's 13th-place finish Kwasniewski pulls takes the points lead for the first time in four races. He'll take a narrow two-point lead over Pursley into the final race with Derek Thorn also mathmatically still alive (although he'd probably need both not to start to have a chance). Finnish 2008 Formula (Toyota) Atlantic champion Marcus Niemela, French ex-Superleague Formula racer Julien Jousse and Canadian Jamie Krzysik also make their K&N West debuts. Krzysik did the best with a top-5 finish while Niemela, likely the series' first Finnish racer, finished 15th one lap behind. Jousse went out early and finished last. Dallas Montes scores his second top-10 in as many West series starts. 2. Dylan Kwasniewski picks up his 5th career K&N Pro West Series win, and 3rd of 2012 (had 2 wins in 2011 as a rookie). But it's his first win in 9 races and his first top 3 finish in 7. Eric Holmes finishes in the top 3 for a 4th consecutive race and 5th time in the last 6. After missing the previous West Series race due to Truck Series commitments, David Mayhew gets his first top 3 finish in 9 races but his 13th top 10 in 13 starts in 2012. Derek Thorn now has 6 top 5's in the last 7 races, and 14 top 5's in 19 career West Series starts (10 in 14 races in 2012). After just 1 top 5 in the first 9 races of 2012, Cameron Hayley now has 3 in the last 5 races. But he still trails Austin Dyne in the ROTY standings going into the final race. 21-year-old Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada native Jamie Krzysik qualifies and finishes 6th in his West Series debut. Travis Milburn picks up his 1st top 10 in 9 starts this season and just his 6th in 37 career starts dating back to 2008. Dallas Montes now has finishes of 2nd and 8th in his first two career West Series starts. 2007 West Series champion Mike David finishes 9th in his first start in the series since 2009. Jonathon Gomez picks up his 20th top 10 in 40 career West Series starts, including 8 in 13 starts this season (9.7 avg fin, 9th in pts). 2011 LMS LMP1 champion and 2008 Formula Renault 3.5 championship runner-up Julien Jousse only completed 9 laps in his series debut before blowing his radiator. 3. It was his fifth and final K&N West victory before changing over to the East series in 2013. 5.
