Derek Thorn finishes 18th, but because this was a K&N Pro Series
combination race, and he was the 5th highest finishing West driver, he
is credited with a 5th place finish in the West Series points standings.
He holds onto a 6-point lead over Michael Self, Greg Pursley, and
Cameron Hayley, who are all tied for 2nd place in points, after this
race. The other three drivers all finished inside the top 8, including
Self, who won this race.

Speaking of Michael Self, great job by him in this race. He was the only
West Series driver to lead in this race, and he did so for 83 laps, more
than half of the race distance. He has now won back-to-back races for
the first time in his career, and has one fewer laps led through four
races this season (99) than he had all last season in 15 races (100). If
not for that disappointing 15th place finish at Stockton, he would
likely have the points lead right now.
