If Ricky Stenhouse was the driver to lead every lap in this race no one would bat an eye but because a driver actually is talented people feel the need to tear him down. It's a very sad thing and it happens with every talented rookie to come along. 7. That's the equivalent of what Kyle Larson is doing in dropping down in all of these lower series for what is supposed track time. If he had equal equipment and was having to actually work for it then people might be impressed, but all he did today was go out there and run 66 practice laps and the internet blows up like he did something amazing, when it really wasn't, and it was borderline embarrassing he almost gave away that Pocono ARCA win. Me personally I don't like Kyle Larson because of his actions at the Battle of the Beach in 2013 when he dumped CE Falk, proved how low of a driver he really is and I root for him to blow up every week. 9. I'd criticize any Cup driver for winning a K&N race. Look at how much people criticize Cup drivers for competing in Nationwide/trucks/ARCA. This is even worse... 10. But when Larson (or Stenhouse) decides to do ARCA or K&N, that is downright pathetic. 12. He previously won the K&N East series title in 2012, with two wins, on his way up the NASCAR ladder. 13. numbah10hatah posted: 06.22.2014 - 9:37 am Rate this comment: (2) (2) Yay! Larson dominated the field with 100000000000000000000000000000000000000x (slight exaggeration) less funding than him! I'm so impressed! Obvious sarcasm is obvious. 14. Darrell posted: 06.22.2014 - 10:00 am Rate this comment: (1) (1) Larson's fanbase has blown him up as being this messiah of motorsport. He's had some good Cup runs, but he has yet to win a series when he's been at "equal footing" as his competitors. Perfect example is this race right here. He likely will barely scrape the Top 10, at best, in the Cup race, yet his fan club will still splooge all over themselves trying to convince us that he is the lovechild of Earnhardt and Petty. 15. CBASS posted: 06.22.2014 - 10:59 am Rate this comment: (3) (0) As someone who works in ARCA, it was good to have a high profile driver like Larson in the race. Yes, he was gonna blow away the field, but it brings in a larger audience for the Series. How many people who are complaining about Larson winning this race would have not give a damn at all if he wasn't in this race? And he has every right to run this race and that Pocono race. He'd never seen those tracks before, and Ganassi wanted him to get seat time before the big show. Before I'm blasted for saying it, he's not the first, and he'll surely not be the last to do so. Lest you people forget about Scott Riggs and Casey Mears winning Pocono ARCA races during their Cup Rookie years. Long story short, it was one race. It's not like he's running the whole season. 16. What better way to learn, but I don't think a guy should go from Cup all the way down to K&N series to race. That series should be for the coming up drivers. Kyle Larson is all ready UP. 17. DRF posted: 06.24.2014 - 4:54 am Rate this comment: (1) (3) Wow. People. This is way different than Cup stars like Keselowski or Busch winning a race in Nationwide or Trucks. Guys like Larson and Stenhouse ran this race specifically to get more time on the one-of-a-kind Sonoma layout which they've never been to before. Nothing wrong with that. There is NO reason drivers like Busch should be running, say, Kentucky Nationwide or whatever companion races the Cup Series has most every week. 18.
